PLEASE TURN OVER stars Phillips as Edward Halliday, chief accountant of a large organisation who continually expresses his dissatisfaction that his daughter Jo does not possess the same qualities as his secretary. In an effort to impress him, Jo secretly writes a book that soon has everyone talking and a whole host of unexpected repercussions. WATCH YOUR STERN: When secret plans of a new torpedo are destroyed by incompetent sailors, the crew must rally round to conceal the mishap and get hold of the only other copy before the imminent arrival of the Admiral.
NO KIDDING sees Phillips as father to a young family who inherit a country estate that they plan to turn into a summer camp for kids – only things don’t go as smoothly as planned thanks to feuding and drunken staff and an officious alderwoman who has designs on the property herself. CROOKS ANONYMOUS: Captain “Dandy” Foredyke has an unfortunate affliction. He suffers from “bells in the head”. That’s to say, he hears bells whenever he is tempted, and as this phoney man-about-town is a safe-cracker and a thief, this tends to happen all too often.
