DEAD MAN'S SHOES triumphs in 2005 Awards season

Shane Meadows' revenge thriller DEAD MAN'S SHOES has scored 4 film awards in the first 3 months of 2005. Shane Meadows and the film's lead actor Paddy Considine have received awards from various prestigious bodies including: The South Bank Show Awards, The Evening Standard Film Awards, The Directors' Guild of Great Britain and Empire Magazine.

Their run of success started on 27th January when DEAD MAN'S SHOES took the Best Film prize at the ninth annual South Bank Show Awards, beating My Summer of Love and Shaun of the Dead. The Evening Standard Film Awards followed with a Best Actor win for Paddy Considine for his chilling portrayal of Richard, the avenging older brother. The 10th annual Sony Ericsson Empire Awards went on to give Paddy the Best British Actor accolade ahead of stiff competition including Daniel Craig for Layer Cake and Simon Pegg for Shaun of the Dead. Most recently, the prestigious 2nd annual Directors' Guild Awards for Outstanding Directorial Achievement jointly awarded Shane Meadows (for DEAD MAN'S SHOES) and Pawel Pawlikowski (for My Summer of Love) for Best British Film.

DEAD MAN'S SHOES also received nominations at the 2005 British Academy Film Awards (for Outstanding British Film of the Year) and at the British Independent Film Awards.
